1 Wireless Zigbee Solution ZigBee is a suite of high level communication protocols using small, low-power digital radios based on the IEEE 802.15.4-2003 standard for wireless personal area networks (WPANs), up to 100 m indoor. The technology defined by ZigBee is aimed to be simpler and less expensive than other WPANs, such as Bluetooth. ZigBee is targeted at radio-frequency (RF) applications that require a low data rate, long battery life, and secure networking. 3-Axis Low-g Accelerometer Accelbee® is the tiny, low power, and low cost solution for wireless 3-Axis control. It is based on the conjuction of a ±1.5g - 6g capacitive micromachined accelerometer, together with a true System-On-Chip (SOC) solution for wireless sensor networking based on ZigBee®/IEEE 802.15.4, working at 2.45 GHz. The chip includes a location detection hardware module that can be used in so-called blind nodes (i.e. nodes with unknown location) to receive signals from nodes with known location. Based on this, the location engine calculates an estimate of a blind node’s position. This feature increases the performance of the whole system, combining the information from the accelerometer, together with the position estimation from the location engine, being the perfect solution for tracking applications. Wireless Communication 3-Axis Accelerometer Low Power Tiny & Low Cost The sensor is based on a ±1.5g - 6g capacitive micromachined accelerometer, which features signal conditioning, a 1-pole low pass filter, temperature compensation and g-Select, which allows for the selection among 4 sensitivities. Zero-g offset full scale span and filter cut-off are factory set and require no external devices. Includes a Sleep Mode that makes it ideal for handheld battery powered electronics.
