9 Action points for schools Review class teacher SEN knowledge/skill Draw up action plan for CPD (see Universal training programme) Publish SEN Information Report on website with link to local offer. Establish procedures for reviewing with parents/carers. All staff are aware of reforms and class teachers are aware of their increased responsibilities. Information to governors. Review new pupils and those currently at SA to move to single category SEN Support by January census Develop systems for your school’s graduated approach (e.g. take part in Wandsworth pilot) Increase engagement of parents, carers and pupils in SEN provision, setting outcomes and planning support and annual reviews.

11 The approach Early involvement of parents in TAC discussions and goal setting over time Less than expected progress – TAC meeting agrees, with parents, request for statutory EHC needs assessment – request completed and sent to SNAS If request agreed – plan co-ordinator allocated TAC meetings (led by Lead Professional) co-produce plan content including outcomes and consideration of personal budget Draft plan returned to SNAS for decision Follow up TAC to confirm implementation and review arrangements
