What is a genocide ? A genocide is the extermination of people who have the same origin, religion, language, culture...

Who ? Armenians are a Christian people, who used to live in the Ottoman empire. Turkish are Muslims. They considered the Armenians as pro-Russians and saboteurs. Armenians in the Ottoman empire a thousand years ago.

When ? The Armenian genocide happened from 1915 to 1916 during the World War I (1914-1918). Because the Turkish were with Germans, who were fighting against the Russians, they acused the Armenians to be pro-Russians.

Where ? The Armenian genocide took place in eastern Turkey, and a lot of Armenians were deported in deserts of Mesopotamia (the current Iraq) and Syria.

How ? Turkishes gathered Armenians for deporting them in the deserts.They died from starvation or exhaustion. They were executed. Sonia
