7. 7 Carolinas Section AIHA -Roundtable on Security & Terrorism - Industry Perspective 03/14/02 Plan Your Plan  Do we plan for execution?  Can we boil plans down to an index card of actions?  Do we look at multiple failures? e.g., A chemical spill and a fire, or Injury rescue during a HazMat event  What specialized first-aid or treatment might be required from chemical exposure  Will EMTs/Ambulance crews be equipped? »Where can you get such treatment  Do you have an all-hazard plan?

8. 8 Carolinas Section AIHA -Roundtable on Security & Terrorism - Industry Perspective 03/14/02 General Plan Weaknesses  Often we fail to communicate:  List or clearly explain all significant hazards?  Informed all who will participate in or support our response plan?  Plan written for compliance, execution or both?  Have we talked through “unified command” issues with outside responders. Fire, Police, HazMat, “Alert Team”, etc.

11. 11 Carolinas Section AIHA -Roundtable on Security & Terrorism - Industry Perspective 03/14/02 Where we’re the experts  Have we shared our expertise?  Do 1 st Responders and Emergency Planners know what we know?  Tell them what special monitoring or protective equipment we have?  Inform if authorized to share,  Work with 1 st Responders to give awareness training on special hazards presented by operations & materials.
