Outcome-based programming 1. Set outcomes for your program. 2. Plan your program with the outcomes in mind. 3. Collect data to determine whether your outcomes have been achieved.

The benefits of outcome-based programming 1. Tell the stories behind your summer reading statistics. 2. Generate data to use in publicity materials and grant proposals. 3. Reach out successfully to underserved groups. 4. Develop programs that are relevant to your community. 5. Build capacity and improve management decision-making.
