Cyril & Methodius“ Skopje, Republic of Macedonia All visitors to Republic of Macedonia need a valid passport. Participants from EU member states and USA don’t need an entry visa. Participants from some non EU countries might require an entry visa for Republic of Macedonia. For precise information check www.mfa.gov.mk. Alexander The Great Airport is situated 15km away from Skopje and is well connected to various European destinations. We recommend the following airline companies: Austrian Airlines, Alitalia, Adria Airways, Malev, Czech Airlines, Croatian Airlines, JAT. The best convenient nodes are : Vienna (Austrian Airlines), Milan (Alitalia) and Ljubljana (Adria Airways). St. Paul The Apostle Airport is situated 10km away from Ohrid. It is a small airport served in certain days of the week by international flights to some European destinations as Vienna, Amsterdam, Düsseldorf, Zurich, Ljublana, Belgrade, which are further connected with different European cities. For precise information check the following sites: www.airports.com.mk/ http://www.exploringmacedonia.com/ For participants arriving at Skopje Airport, a special bus transfer to Ohrid will be organized (Ohrid is 170+30 km far away from Skopje, 2 h 30–3 h drive). There are also daily bus connections between Ohrid and Belgrade, Sofia, Istanbul, Tirana. Busses from Skopje to Ohrid and back are running by schedule from the central bus station. Climate: in September, the temperatures vary between 10 o C at night and 24 o C during the day. Some of you might like to try to swim in Ohrid lake! The currency exchange rate is ~61denars for 1 euro. Credit cards and euros are widely accepted, but still preferably cash in denars. A non-limitative list of topics in archaeometry includes :  Byzantine Cultural Heritage,  Ceramics,  Wall paintings,  Icons,  Metal artefacts,  Paper,  Textile etc. The registration is on 18 th September evening (18.00-20.00), followed by a Welcome cocktail. The program on 19 th and 20 th September will consist of plenary and invited lectures and posters. The invited lectures will provide state-of-the-art reviews in the area of archaeometry. Contributed papers are invited from all areas of archaeometry. The official language of the Symposium is English, there will be no translations into Macedonian. The Symposium is a satellite event to the 20 th Congress of Chemists and Technologists of Macedonia. More information on www.bicongress08.org.mk.
