c. Inadequate thirst-quenchers 1. Love – human relationships 2. Purpose – ambitions/dreams, job, achievements etc. 3. Freedom from guilt – Religious activity 4. Security – money, possessions These are Gifts from God. We need to know the Giver.

2. The real thirst-quencher - Jesus Jesus meets a thirsty woman:- a. He engages her – v.7-12 b. He stirs up her thirst - he speaks of permanent thirst-quenching - v.13,14 - he speaks of permanent thirst-quenching - v.13,14 - exposes false thirst-quencher-v.16-18 - exposes false thirst-quencher-v.16-18 - explains what true worship of God is like – v.21-24 - explains what true worship of God is like – v.21-24

c. She drinks & invites others to drink – v.28-30,39-42 - Her need for love is fully satisfied - She is gripped by a great purpose - She is set free from guilt cf.Rom.8:1 - She is totally secure cf. John10:28-30 COME & DRINK – Is.55:1,2 Invite others to “Come & drink”
