John 19:28 After this, Jesus, knowing that all was now finished, said (to fulfill the Scripture), “I thirst.”

Sensual Cry – “After This” Physical Statement of Agony Hebrews 4:15 –For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.

Scriptural Cry – “To fulfill the Scripture” Psalm 22:15a –…my strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue sticks to my jaws; Psalm 69:21b –…and for my thirst they gave me sour wine to drink.

Spiritual Cry John 17:4-5 – 4 I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work that you gave me to do. 5 And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed.

Psalm 63:1a –O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; Psalm 42:1-2 –As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God. 2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?

For what do you thirst? How long will you thirst? Revelation 22:17 The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price.

“…but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” John 4:14
