Content covered will include a comprehensive coverage of the physical principles of CT and clinical applications, contrast media administration, parameters affecting CT image quality, quality control measurements, image reconstruction and post-processing, image display, artifacts and radiation safety and dosimeters. Tuition waiver applies; seniors pay fee only. Required textbook found in the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Bookstore, Computed Tomography Physical Principles, Clinical Applications, and Quality Control, 3 rd edition,Seeram, Euclid Course: AHT20628 Hours $305 + $75 fee = $380; Non-Md. residents add $160 Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus CRN#: 257667 Sessions 10/8-11/19S 423 HC10 a.m.-2:15 p.m. Computed Tomography Imaging Clinical Practicum This course is designed to prepare registered radiographers to perform Computed Tomography exams under the direct supervision of a registered technologist. Documentation of 125 CT studies in specific categories is required for the ARRT Computed Tomography Registry Examination. The student will be assigned for 100 hours to an off-campus clinical site to perform a variety of computed tomography exams and may or may not accumulate the 125 exams. Students will be required to maintain their own records of signatures for these exams. Tuition waiver applies; seniors pay fee only. Pre requisite: Successful completion of Computed Tomography Imaging Course and Contrast Administration for Computed Tomography Imaging To register for this course you must have prior approval from Kathy Lewandowski at 240-567-5565. Course: AHT210100 Hours $200 + $50 fee = $250; Non-Md. residents add $140 CRN#: 257638/29-12/16 Advanced Computed Tomography Imaging Clinical Practicum This course is a continuation of Computed Tomography Imaging Clinical Practicum and will offer students the ability to continue to perform Computed Tomography exams under the direct supervision of a registered technologist. Documentation of 125 CT studies in specific categories is required for the ARRT Computed Tomography Registry Examination. The student will be assigned for no more than 100 hours to an off-campus clinical site to perform a variety of computed tomography exams and may or may not accumulate the 125 exams. Students will be required to maintain their own records of signatures for these exams. Tuition waiver applies; seniors pay fee only. Pre requisite: Successful completion of Computed Tomography Imaging Clinical Practicum Magnetic Resonace Imaging This course is designed to provide the registered radiographers with the knowledge and understanding of content specifications required by the ARRT examination in Magnetic Resonance. The content will include the risks and safety concerns related to MRI, MR signal production, T1 and T2 relaxation, relationship between tissue and image contrast, data acquisition, pulse sequences, sequence parameters and options, data manipulation, instrumentation, artifacts, and quality control. This course does not have a clinical component, students will need to acquire the necessary repetitions for the ARRT examination on their own. Tuition waiver applies; seniors pay fee only. Required textbook found in the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus Bookstore: MRI in Practice, 3 rd edition, Westbrook and Kaut Course: AHT20225 Hours $305 + $75 fee = $380; Non-Md. residents add $160 Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus CRN#: 2576510 Sessions 9/20-11/22T 423 HC6-8:30 p.m. Contrast Media Administration for CT Imaging This 4 hours course is a required pre-requisite for technologist who participating in the Computed Tomography Imaging Clinical practicum. Venipuncture and contrast injection in the CT environment is covered. A mock practice lab is included. A review of paperwork necessary for clinical placement is also reviewed. This course does not offer any certification for venipuncture.. Pre-requisite: Successful completion of computed Tomography Imaging Physics course.
