Welcome…. Printmaking Students! Throughout this 1 semester course (.5 credit), we will engage in the study of the following concepts: Relief Printmaking Linoleum Block Printing onto Clay Collagraph Reduction Print – Linoleum Photo Intaglio - Solar Etching Color Mixing/ Color Theory Principles of Design Symbolism/Metaphor Art History/Contemporary Art Studies Reflective Writing & Discussion Please be prepared to write about and discuss art concepts.

Relief printmaking Simply means creating a relief (a surface that is set out from the background, in order to print the raised surface) For example; woodcut, linoleum block and collagraph.

Printmaking 2 & 3 Welcome back ….. – You will be involved in some of the lessons planned for Printmaking 1. – Your lessons have been planned for advanced level work – You will NOT be required to complete the color pre-assessment, or the color chart. – You will also have the opportunity to work on some independent projects, according to your interests and needs.
