Designed to meet industry needs No entry requirements Six days course plus Senior First Aid Rope work, Safety at Sea, Senior First Aid and communication competencies Graduates seek employment as General Purpose Hand

Skipper of vessel up to 12 m in length No entry requirements Individual Learning Sessions and Tutorial Support to provide individual support Extensive practical training built into the course Three days of ‘onboard a vessel training’ to ensure students have practical workplace skills

CERTIFICATE III MASTER CLASS 5
Master of vessel less than 24m in length. No entry requirements – preference to candidates with some sea experience Candidates can mix n match between daytime and evening classes Extensive practical training on ship simulator and bridge equipment to make students work ready. Four days of ‘onboard a vessel training’ to ensure students have practical workplace skills

Master of vessel up to 35 m in length No entry requirements – Preference to candidates with Master 5 qualification Individual Learning Sessions and Tutorial Support to facilitate deep understanding of subjects Extensive practical training on ship simulator to ensure students have practical workplace skills

Engineer of a vessel up to 250 KW/500KW No entry requirements Individual Learning Sessions and Tutorial Support to support individual needs Four days of ‘onboard a vessel training’ to ensure students have practical workplace skills

Nationally and Internationally recognised Qualification Prerequisite for working on boats operating in international waters Good employment opportunities for graduates Graduates get employed on ‘Luxury Superyachts’ and ‘Offshore Industry’ Offering planned for semester 2, 2008

Statement of Attainment in Marine and Coastal Conservation
Course objective: To gain a greater understanding of the relationships between coastal and marine environments and how to apply that knowledge to achieve successful conservation of those areas

Pathway for conservation volunteers to receive formal recognition for the conservation activities Target group HarbourKeepers and CoastKeepers Anyone can undertake the course

Marine and Coastal Conservation Entry Requirements
Marine stream candidates get trained in fish biodiversity surveys therefore Must be certified as PADI Open Water diver or equivalent, Have at least 25 logged dives and Have dived in the last six months. Meet relevant dive medical requirements For the Coastal Stream the focus is above water and there are no entry requirements

Marine Stream Courses Credit and Recognition
Credit arrangement for completed modules with other courses such as: natural resource management land conservation parks management bush regeneration
