E-commerce rising constantly In 2011, the Dutch home market for internet shopping was 10 billion Euro = 9-10 %of the total retail sales Compared to 2.8 per cent in 2005 Clothes & shoes: 40-50 % (NL) – Every second pair of shoes is bought over internet

Home delivery Even vegetables and food are increasingly sold via the internet – (yearly growth rate in Germany: 24,5%; regular online sales: 20,5%) In Germany 750 mio packages are delivered each year – ever third one – 250 mio – are sent back

Vehicle-based restrictions, e.g. types, sizes, weights, etc. Zone-based restrictions, e.g. zones for certain vehicles Time-based restrictions, e.g. time windows for delivery, Access charges based on specific times or environmental circumstances Municipalities need to act with regulations
