Superlatives Superlatives are used to say which is the biggest, the tallest, the fastest...etc. In a group. Por ejemplo: “el más grande””el más alto””la más rápida”etc. “Lake Laikal in Russia is the biggest lake in the world”

Superlatives Spain is a large country Brazil is larger than Spain Russia is the largest country in the world.

Superlatives It always goes “the” before the superlative: “He's the tallest” “she's the shortest”

RULES RULES: -One syllable adjectives add -EST: “Alonso is the FASTEST” “Alonso es el más rápido”

RULES -If the adjective finishes in a vowel + consonant, double final consonant+ - EST “It is the saddest chick in the world”

RULES -One or Two-syllable adjective,ending in consonant+“y” EASY= -IEST: EASIEST “ Ludo is the easiest game in the world ”

RULES -Two or more syllable adjectives: “THE MOST” before the adjective: “ THE MOST EXPENSIVE CHOCOLATE BAR ”

ADJECTIVE SUPERLATIVE FORM One-syllable adjectives CHEAP (BARATO) THE CHEAP-EST (el más barato) One vowel + one consonant:double final consonant BIG (GRANDE) THE BIG-GEST (el más grande) Two-syllable adjectives ending in consonant+y= ier HEALTHY (SANO) THE HEALTH-IEST (El más sano ) Two-syllable adjectives not ending in “-y” BORING (ABURRIDO) THE MOST BORING (El más aburrido) Two or more syllables: more+ adjective EXPENSIVE (CARO) THE MOST expens.

Superlatives After superlatives we use in+names of places or singular words for groups of people. Eg “It's the noisiest city in the world” “It's the dirtiest city in Europe” We often use “the+superlative adj with the present perfect+ever. Eg “It's the best film I've ever seen this year” “It's the most beautiful city I've ever been to”
