The steel sector must be developed to meet up with challenges posed by auto parts replacement by developing auto parts production industries such as: Inner and outer panels of automotive bodies, wheel housings and peripheral components fuel tanks automotive exhaust systems, automatic fuel tanks and radiators, Steel cord for reinforcement radials tyres etc.

Steel Recycling Steel produced about 150 years ago can be recycled and used in new products and applications. By sector, global steel recovery rates for recycling are estimated at: 85% for construction; 85% for automotive; 90% for machinery and 50% for electrical and domestic appliances.

Auto industries coming to Nigeria should establish auto spare parts production plants To reduce poverty level and dependence on importation Create employment for our teeming youths Nigeria is endowed with enormous resources for the production of car parts Auto policy aimed at developing car manufacturing and allied industries.

Steel sector is the backbone of any economic or industrial development of any nation The industrial revolution of the Government should aim at boosting the steel industry To be able to produce car components, the iron and steel sector must encouraged The raw materials to produce car parts must come from our indigenous steel industry

Nigeria is rich enough to support vehicle assembly for her domestic markets Automotive Industry will open up more development and design work Government should take measures to carry out revival expansion and development of the metal/steel and tyre manufacturing industries.

Industrial challenges of the past: As laudable as the objectives of the auto policy are it should be remembered that our industries died easily because of lack of commitment insincerity and unfaithfulness to Government policies corruption in high places inconsistent policies and misplaced priorities
