I. Nazi Rise to Power A.Established following Germany’s defeat in WWI. B.Radical, militant C.Blamed Marxists and Jews for Germany’s problems. D.Over 50,000 members by 1923.

II. Focus on Racial Struggle A.Characteristics, attitude, ability, and behavior determined by race. B.These traits passed from generation to generation. C.Individual people could not overcome the qualities of their race.

D. Social Darwinism 1.Group survival instinct. 2. Believed intermingling would pollute and extinguish a race.

III. The Struggle for Space A.Believed races had to compete for living space and resources. B.The inferior races would lose territory and eventually die out.

Why didn’t it??? Hitler’s Theory: They adapted to their existence without land and developed traits like deviousness and deceitfulness to ensure survival.
