 Jesus is Lord ---  So what?  In the creed, we say:  I believe in God the Father almighty, AND …

 HIS ONLY SON OUR LORD  He descended into hell  He rose from the dead  He ascended into heaven  He is at the right hand of God  He will come to judge  Let us look at each of these ideas:

 This was not to suffer more, because he had already said “it is finished.”  It was to proclaim his victory ---  To Satan, whom He had defeated  To the past believers, whom he had saved.  “He went and preached to the spirits in prison” (1 Peter 3:18-19)

 Peter said, “you killed him, but God raised him from the dead, and made him LORD and Messiah.” (Acts 2:25)  Paul wrote, “He was shown to be the Son of God, with POWER, by rising from the dead. (Romans 1:4)  Jesus said, “Because I live, you will live also” (John 16:25)

 Available to everyone everywhere  Praying for us (Romans 8:34)  Jesus said, “I go to prepare a place for you.” (John 17:24)  Jesus said that after he goes away, he will send the Holy Spirit to us (John 16:7)

 God has given judgment into the hands of the Son  Because you belong to Christ, you already know your outcome: although you are a sinner, He will judge you innocent and you will enter eternal life

 This means the “place of power.”  He is in control  That’s why Jesus is called “Lord.”  MORE ABOUT “LORD” follows:

 Called his master “My Lord,” what was he saying about his master?  What was he saying about himself?  How does this apply to calling Jesus “lord?”

 If you confess with your lips  JESUS IS LORD  And believe in your heart  That God raised him from the dead,  YOU SHALL BE _____  (Romans 10:9)

 By your obedience to the commands the Lord has given you.  By your treatment of those that the Lord has placed over you.  “Children obey your parents IN THE LORD” The same goes for all God has placed over you

 “Christ in you” is your hope of glory Colossians 1:27  Paul said, “I can do all things through HIM who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13

 Dear Jesus,  Thank you for living in me,  To give me strength to make it through.
