9. Doctoral Degree... takes different titles for different academic fields: Ph.D. (Doctorade), “proficiency in Fine Arts” “ s pecialization in Medicine (MD)”

11. Higher Education Council (YÖK) Established in 1981. Functions: -to coordinate the activities of teaching, education and scientific research -to ensure the establishment and development of universities -effective allocation of resources among Universities

Internationalisation in Turkish Higher Education Higher Education Council has principally engaged in the following activities: Dissemination of information concerning internationalisation among universities; Launching the procedures concerning “Diploma Supplement” Promoting the application of European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) to ensure standards and transparency in higher education.
