Transatlantic Trends Transatlantic Trends is an annual survey of public opinion which started in 2002, consisting of a random sample of approximately 1,000 phone or face-to-face interviews in each country between June 9 and July 1, 2009. For results based on national samples, the margin of error is plus or minus three percentage points, for results based on the total European sample the margin of error is plus or minus one percentage point, at a 95 percent confidence level.
