P-N transition Is the area of the ingredient interface of P-type semiconductors and N-type semiconductors. P-N junction transmits an electric current in only one direction. Properties of P-N junctions used in semiconductor components – diode, transistor, photodiode and others.
4
Diode is an electronic semiconductor device with two electrodes. Each diode has two working outlets, which are called the cathode and the anode. The basic function of diodes is to permit current flow in the direction from the anode to the cathode from very low voltages.

Diodes-electrotechnical symbols Electrotechnical schematic symbol for diodes Electrotechnical schematic symbol for zener diodes Electrotechnical schematic symbol for capacitance diodes - varicap Electrotechnical schematic symbol for LED diodes Electrotechnical schematic symbol for photodiodes
6
DIVISION OF DIODES According to design principle and purpose: Cylindrical diode – historically the oldest type of semiconductor diode, basic crystals Junction diode Schottky diode – It does not use a P-N junction, but a metal-semiconductor junction Switch diode – 0.1 to 0.2 V Rectifier diode- 0.5 V
7
TYPES OF DIODE Photodiode – incoming light causes the creation of a pair of electrons in the region of the P-N junction – positive hole, and thus increases the conductivity or increases the voltage at the P-N junction. LED – luminous diode. Recombination in the region of the P-N junction when the current flows in the forward direction to cause the emission of light rays. Zener diode – is usually designed so that the reverse direction occurs at a voltage of a few volts for nondestructive zener breakdown. Thanks to this it can be used as a voltage stabiliser.

TYPES OF DIODE Tunnel diode +0 V Capacitance diode(varicap) is a special diode designed to have greater capacity. With the size of the voltage on the diode we can slightly change its capacity. This phenomenon is used for example in tuning circuits such as radio receivers. PIN diode is a special diode which has an intrinsic regulator in the middle.
