Red flags of suspicion Can’t seem to keep their story straight. Gives scripted-sounding answers to questions. Has branding or tattoos on their body, especially designs or words that indicate ownership or money. Reluctant to make eye contact. Bruising, especially the outline of a hand or marks from a wire or rope. Appears helpless, nervous or ashamed. Signs of malnourishment.

Red flags of suspicion (continued) Coming on to one or more men. Knows sexual lingo related to commercial sex. Someone who disappears for periods of time or is a chronic runaway. Not attending school or has a chronic school attendance problem. Seems to be a friend with a much older man who seems abusive or controlling. Clothing with the words “Daddy’s girl” or clothing that seems out of place or out of season. Unexplained excessive amounts of money, clothing, jewelry 1-888-373-7888
