Reduced EMMS Load Forecast zones from 11 to 8 load areas. Reduced number of control areas. Introduced efficiencies. UFE Aggregation Performance Enhancement Settlement Statement Runtime Reduced 50% The Generate Settlement Statement runtime improvement was achieved by using SQL in place of existing Lodestar Rate Language. Load Profiling Runtime Reduced 50% The Load Profiling runtime improvement was achieved by making the calculation algorithm in Lodestar more efficient. Increase EDI Inbound Processing Throughput. Achieved by multi-threading PaperFree processing. Settlement / Registration Selection
ERCOT has multiple directions it could take regarding Settlements, Registration, and Transaction Management: Modified Lodestar Solution (with upgrade) Implement Excelergy Solution Implement Custom Solution Considerations (costs, risks, and impacts) for alternatives: Development (labor, licensing, hardware) Integration (reliability, transaction integrity, scalability) Maintenance (personnel skill-set, technology, vendor support) Operation (transaction transparency, performance, security) Business Impact (conversion, operation) The goal is to reduce Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) while meeting the needs of the market.
