The Iomega® REV™ 35GB/90GB drive transforms network and desktop backup – its revolutionary removable hard disk-based technology provides unprecedented price and performance advantages over traditional tape solutions.
REV™ drives use removable media which act and perform just like hard drives. The advantage of the media being removable allows users to add additional storage when needed or archive files securely and over a long term through the use of low cost REV™ disks.
Traditionally users have been forced to choose removable storage products that are either too slow or too high in capacity and expense. Through the introduction of REV™ technology businesses can break away from the restricting boundaries of tape by delivering users a new harmony between speed and capacity at an affordable price.

14. REV™ Usages Backup Recovery Archiving
REV™ is ideal for backing up your hard disk drives on both server and desktops. Due to the real-time verification of data through advanced ECC (error correction code) the REV™ ensures data is written reliably and quickly.
Recovery
REV™ is disk based technology and therefore provides disk to disk (D2D) data transfer performance without the data bottle neck of other removable storage systems. The random accessibility of REV™ allows users to quickly seek out and restore individual files without the need to wait for a tape to wind round locating the file.
Archiving
REV™ is removable and long life – therefore enabling businesses to archive data onto low cost media for up to 30 years. Historically disk and tape were traditionally used in conjunction with each other to provide a suitable performance for backup and remove-ability, today REV™ can achieve Backup and Archiving quickly through a single hardware device.

15. REV™ Usages continued Library/Catalogue Large file transfer
Users of high capacity files can now quickly access, edit, drag and drop files from hard disk to REV disk which provides a dynamic working environment for their important and demanding data use. The ability to re-use and add to existing media quickly and easily extends the value of each disk by allowing users to maximize the available capacity. The dormant state of the disk when not in use further removes the need to maintain a backup in case of system hard disk failure.
Large file transfer
REV™ media provides a way of moving large amounts of data quickly and efficiently from one machine to another – either at the same location, or to another site destination. Because the media only contains the disk – the robustness of the media far exceeds that of traditional external hard drives, this coupled with the tough casing makes REV™ an ideal media for transport.
