2 AD Genetics Study n Nationwide study, recruiting 1,000 families with at least 2 siblings with late-onset AD n Partnership with Alzheimer’s Association

3 Recruitment Challenges n Anticipate having to do broad outreach to get sufficient number of eligible families n Conducted focus groups to discuss barriers & incentives n Developed materials to support national recruitment effort

4 Recruitment Tool Kit n Basic recruitment manual n Brochure & family talking points flyer n PowerPoint presentation not a lecture on genetics, a recruitment presentation n Templates for materials to customize for local use: flyer, letters, news release, ads, PSAs, etc. n Background materials n CD with electronic versions of materials

5 Collaboration with Alzheimer’s Association Chapters n Partnership with Association -joint news release -talks to Association leadership & members -support for focus groups n Tool kits will also be distributed to chapters n AD awareness month activities n Other opportunities to partner
