HPC2N 2002 all rights reserved Experiences with parallel computer and Grid systems Seth: Current main facility ° 240 procs / 120 nodes; fast interconnect; 1-2GB of main memory per node. ° NorduGrid facility since Nov 11 2002. Main storage: AFS-based with ° a complementary hierarcial storage based on a IBM 3494 tape robot; handles backup. ° Total (uncompressed) capacity of the tape robot is ~15TB. ° Cross-site backup cooperation with PDC, storing copies of data at each others site.

HPC2N 2002 all rights reserved Infrastructure for housing SwedGrid resources ° Floor space available for 2 x 4 racks, even more after rearrangements. ° Tape robot facilities – can easily be extended. ° Cooling and power backed by a big UPS system (battery and diesel). ° Connection to SUNET can (if needed) bypass the University network and go directly to the SUNET equipment on campus. ° Operation and maintenance under the same premises as our current facilities, i.e., weekdays 08.30 - 16.30; primary support by email.
