WEATHER Bell #1 Answer: (1) Weather is the state of the atmosphere at a given time and place. (Yes! This IS from a textbook!) (2) Because I live on the surface! (3) How the sun heats different parts of our planet in different ways so some part are hot and some parts are cold. Click here to return to today’s bell.

WEATHER Bell #4 Answer: (1) Hot air rises because is is less dense than the air around it. (2) Cold air sinks because it is more dense than the air around it. (3) The Convection Currents in our atmosphere circulate the heat from the sun around the planet Earth. Click here to return to today’s bell.

WEATHER Bell #5 Answer: (1) Weather is the state of the atmosphere at a given time and place. If it’s raining, I have to grab an umbrella. If it’s really hot outside, I wear shorts and sandals. (2) Look out the window! Check the forecast on the radio or TV. (3) Meteorologists observe temperature, air pressure, precipitation, wind speed and direction, etc. Click here to return to today’s bell.
