Main Objectives To develop a novel approach based on real-time environments for remote learning on the web Provide new concepts to be used in education with up-to-date ICTs Presenting a web-based real-time and open laboratory to researchers and Users not only learning and using latest technologies and concepts but also realizing, controlling, monitoring, recording, reprogramming, discussing and testing available applications or developed by themselves. Let users to perform special experiments which can not be performed in conventional laboratories owing to inadequacy of required hardware. To improve capabilities of Users and researchers in real-time applications on WWW. NeTRe-LAB Remote Learning in Real-Time Environments

NeTRe-LAB Remote Learning in Real-Time Environments Why do we need new systems and applications in education? Using up-to-date ICT in education is costly. Requires some time to be used in education. Education requires some tools and experimental studies to be done in laboratories including measurements and test equipments. Conditions of laboratories are not good and there are not sufficient equipments. Users can only use these systems in the limited time and experimental studies have to be done under instructors. Laboratories can be dangerous in some cases due to high voltage and rotational parts etc. The NeTRe-LAB will consists of real time remote accessible experiments of the electrical machines. The NeTRe-LAB includes theoretical presentations, their animations, simulations and REAL-TIME WEB EXERCISES.
4
Scope An Internet Based Real-Time Laboratory (NeTRe-LAB) will be developed. Electrical machines courses, which is an important topic in Electrical Engineering Education, has been chosen. The NeTRe-LAB includes theoretical presentations, animations, simulations, and Real-time web exercises. NeTRe-LAB Remote Learning in Real-Time Environments

NeTRe-LAB Remote Learning in Real-Time Environments Expected Results In conventional education, some experiments are performed under hazardous conditions such as high electricity. In NeTRe-LAB, this risk will be removed. Learning equalization will be provided for user on the same structure. Users will control their learning level by themselves. Users will learn according to their intelligence level and will earn self-teaching. Users will instantly access materials about lectures and other references. Effects of education served user will be evaluated on the computer environment. Contents of courses will be easily updated according to latest challenges in technology. Many faculties will be profited from the NeTRe-LAB.

NeTRe-LAB Remote Learning in Real-Time Environments Expected Results Users will access the NeTRe-LAB without time and place limitations. In NeTRe- Lab, user will repeat their experimental studies again and again. From a teaching and learning point of view NeTRe-Lab will increase users motivation. From a didactical point of view, it is important that users will try all the models with their own parameter-values. The NeTRe-Lab is an open laboratory. So, it will be used not only students, but also engineers and technicians. Engineers and technicians may use the real time experimental sets presented in the NeTRe-Lab for observing dynamic variations of systems. Nowadays, an important term is “Life Long Learning”. So, engineers and technicians must update their knowledge continuously according to the latest technological developments.
