2. 2 Using Stories Effectively  Carefully document the main points of the stories as the women tell them  Give a brief feedback to each woman after each story.  Make sure you respond to how she is feeling – is she upset, pleased, sad, happy.  Congratulate women for sharing difficult stories  Write the key points form each story onto the flip charts  Check with the woman that you have heard correctly

3. 3 Using Stories Effectively  Before your next meeting with the women, collate all of the key points from the stories.  Look to see if any trends are emerging – are women saying similar things.  What lessons can be learned from the stories?  Do they tell you that there are things which need to be done?  Do they tell you of good things which women can and have done?

4. 4 Using Stories Effectively  Feed back to the women what you have learned from their stories  Ask them what they feel and think about the stories they have shared  Add their input to your analysis

5. 5 Using Stories Effectively  Work with your NGO, with UNFPA and the National Council of Women to decide how best to use the information you have collected.  Suggest what you could do with this information?
