Zeus By: Aneeqah Naeem

Childhood Zeus was the son of Cronus and Rhea. His dad wanted to eat him, as he did with the rest of Zeus's siblings. The reason behind this is because there was a prophecy that said his own son would overthrow him. Rhea didn't want him to do this with Zeus. She took him into a cave where he was cared by wood nymphs and nurses, like Amalthea. He was well raised.

Adulthood When he grew into adulthood, Zeus finally caused his father to barf up his siblings. With his siblings, he fought the Titans and Cronus, and beat them. He then imprisoned them in Tartarus, an underworld. Then, his brothers (Posidon and Hades) divded “creation” among themselves. Posidon took the sea, Hades took the underworld, and Zeus took the sky. He became the supreme ruler of Olympia.
4
Zeus's Children Zeus had 2 very famous children. They were Hercules and Perseus. Hercules is the most known child.
5
Hercules We all pretty much know his story, from the Walt Disney movie Hercules. But, there are some things that the movie did overlook.
6
Hercules, Cont. He was, during his lifetime, a demi-god. (Which is the son of a god and a regular person). Hera, the god, despised him alot. She vowed to put him in agony. The most famous thing she did to Hercules was put him in a terrible rage. In this rage, he killed his wife and two children. He felt so bad, he asked Apollo for help.
7
The 12 tasks Apollo (who could read the future) then told him to do 10 tasks (which was later changed to 12). They were extremely difficult. But. In return, after he died he would become a god.
8
The 12 Tasks Cont. His 12 tasks were thought to be impossible. But, he finished them all. His first task was to bring back the skin of an “invulnerable” lion. No one had ever thought of doing it, since it was such an impossible task. But, Hercules was back within a month (there was a lot of traveling involved) with the lion skin in his hands. He sacrificed this to Zeus.
9
The Last Task The 12th task was the most difficult task of all. Hercules had to go to the underworld and kidnap the monstrous like-thing named Cerberus. It had 3 dog heads, a dragon tale, and many more weird parts. It protected the underworld. Hercules, still with all the challenges, managed to bring the thing to the gods. It wasn't an easy task.
10
After the tasks... It wasn't just “sit, relax, and wait to die” for Hercules. He had many more adventures he experienced. Though, he did re-marry to a beautiful girl named Deianira. She made him a home-welcoming present after one of his adventures. It turned out that she actually had put some poison in it (accidentally, she didn't know). Hercules put it on, and felt a lot of pain. He tried to burn himself. The god Hera decided it was enough pain, and Hercules was brought up to become a god.

The End So, that was Hercule's story. He was a very brave person, when he lived. Both him in Zeus are very important people in Greek Mythology.
