6 GMDSS Global Maritime Distress & Safety System Defined by IMO for the provision of marine security information and the coordination of SAR alerts on a global basis. 7 Marine Pollution Emergency Response Support System MPERSS provision of meteorological and oceanographic information for marine pollution emergency response operations outside waters under national jurisdiction
