Journey to Pusan Lesson#11: Commitment

Outbreak of the Korean War ~ The Korean War broke out on June 25, 1950. North Korea invaded South Korea. Christianity didn’t support me, a condition was made for Satan to attack.

Liberation from Heunghnam ~ Because I fulfilled my responsibility, the United Nations attacked North Korea and liberated me.

Liberation from Heunghnam ~ Forty-six B-29 bombers in “V” formation attacked Heungnam Prison, bombing the factory for 3 hours. I already knew it would happen. I told the inmates to come closer to me because God said that no one would be hurt within a 65 foot radius of me. While the bombing was going on, I was praying and communicating with the saints in the spiritual world.

North Korea Invasion ~ North Korea pushed all the way down in South Korea until they reached Pusan on July 25,1950.

United Nations Counterattack ~ The UN began the counterattack and went over the 38 th parallel line on Oct 1.

United Nations Counterattack ~ Prisoners who had 7 year-prison terms were killed on October 12, 1950.

United Nations Counterattack ~ The United Nations forces attacked the Heungnam Prison camp on October 14, 1950. Because of this, we were able to escape at 2:00 am.

Liberation from Heungnam Prison ~ The United Nations troops led by General McArthur saved me before my execution. It was God’s mercy.

Liberation from Heungnam Prison ~ Because the United Nations saved me, this became a condition for the democratic world to receive God’s blessing. October is the liberation month in the Unification Church. You need to celebrate my liberation day from Heungnam Prison in your home.

Liberation from Heungnam prison ~ The liberation was because of my way of life in the prison.

Liberation from Heungnam Prison ~ My way of life was so outstanding that Satan could not accuse me anymore. Even God and the spiritual world helped me.

Pyongyang ~ I walked all the way from Heungnam to Pyongyang. I let my members know that I had come back. Most of my members didn’t return to me. However, I could still gather some members.

Pyongyang ~ I stayed in Pyongyang for 40 days. I visited all the former loyal members. I visited them until I was rejected three times. Even then, I sent my loyal members to them until December 4, 1950. I felt I must do my best with a sincere heart until God told me to turn away from them. I fulfilled all of my responsibility.

Father Goes to the South ~ Because of the war, everyone was leaving Pyongyang. I departed Pyongyang after all the other people had left. ~ I took one member, Jung-Hwa Park, who had an injured leg and was riding a a bicycle. It was hard to pull the bicycle with a big person on it. I was resigned to die. I wanted to have the biggest hardship among the refugees.

Father Goes to the South ~ We crossed the sea to go to Yon Me Do Island. A ship left for Korea from there. But only policemen’s families could ride on it, so we had to go back again.

Jung-Hwa Park ~ When I crossed the sea, I thought that if I couldn’t cross it, God couldn’t survive. Jung- Hwa Park tried to commit suicide on the way to Pusan because he loved me and felt he was a burden to me. I persuaded him not to do that.

Prayer on the 38 th Parallel ~ When I scooped up some sand at the 38 th parallel, I determined that I would diminish the Communist Party and come back to North Korea.

Prayer on the 38 th Parallel ~ It feels like yesterday that I prayed for the liberation of North Korea. I cried and determined to unite North and South Korea while stepping over the 38 th parallel.

Arrival at Pusan ~ It was on January 27, 1951 when I came to Pusan. It should have taken only 10 days to walk directly from Pyongyang to Pusan. For us, it took two months.
