03/06/2015 2 History 1537, The Academy, forerunner of the University of Lausanne, is founded 1870, Léon Walras is named Professor at the School of Law of the University of Lausanne 1892, Vilfredo Pareto is named Professor as the successor to Léon Walras 1911, HEC is created as a Department of the School of Law 1926, creation of the HEC Alumni Club 1978, HEC becomes an independant School of the University of Lausanne 1992, the length of undergraduate programs is increased from 6 to 8 semesters 2005, Award of the first Bachelor degree under the Bologna agreement 2007, Award of the first Master degree under the Bologna agreement
