Outsourcing of cataloging: 2 persons from a data company, copying the cataloging data, 40,000 titles every year ( 60,000 cataloging records in 2009) The Books from CUL: cataloging was finished by data company staff in the summer of 2010, all the books will be put in use in the new humanities and social science library.

28. Tsinghua University Library Cataloging for E-resources What we have done: Cataloging for E-resources began in 1998. At that time, detailed cataloging was made according to rules of MARC, but it is too slow, and could not meet the rapid increase of e- resources. In recent years, data provided by vendors or other systems were used actively, which went batch processing, and then revised by staff. Print and Electronic Resource Cataloging
