Searching now looks at all integrated resources. Here Yale’s metadata directory shows results for a test of “Arabic” This helps new students find resources related to the Middle East.

The presence of vowels in the text (Lane’s Arabic English Lexicon) b. Multi Language text ex. Arabic & Latin c. Different transliteration systems d. Metadata e. Names & Subjects Authorities

AMEEL’s New Four-Year Project Funded by NEH Syrian & Palestinian Gazettes Project, from 1919 to 1948 1. Palestinian Gazette: 40 reels and 5 supplemental vols.: 40,000 pages (rough estimate) 2. Syrian Gazette: 75 vols., 50,000 pages approximately Challenges: a. Paper conditions b. Creation of Metadata. c. OCR from Microfilm Ground total: around 110, 000 to 120,000 pages (Preliminarily count, Yale part only)
