The American Congress on Surveying & Mapping The American Congress on Surveying & Mapping is an organization of students dedicated to promoting and sustaining the profession of surveying. Their purpose encompasses three areas which are: 1. Inform members of the latest developments in the professions of surveying and mapping 2. Promote the surveying profession and the education of its members 3. Promote and assist the university community.

Engineers Without Borders It is a nonprofit organization whose main purpose is to help those in need by providing sustainable engineering projects while fostering the development of internationally and environmentally responsible students and professionals. We are much like Doctors Without Borders but instead of offering medical advice and help we offer engineering advice and project implementation. Engineers Without Borders are all over the world and focus highly on including the community through every step of the design and implementation process. By doing this, communities not only have a new project, it is something they really need and want.
4
Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers The NMSU student chapter of IEEE serves to promote the engineering process of creating, developing, integrating, sharing, and applying knowledge about electro and information technologies and sciences for the benefit of humanity and the profession.

Mexican American Engineering Society MAES was founded in 1974 to increase the number of Mexican Americans and other Hispanics in the technical and scientific fields. By projecting the positive image of its members and their accomplishments, MAES helps to improve the perception of Mexican Americans. By providing a networking and nurturing environment, members are able to develop and hone their leadership, communication, management, and technical skills while improving the educational state of America.

Society of Automobile Engineers Mini Baja is a design competition sponsored by the Society of Automobile Engineers (SAE). It is available only to undergraduate and graduate engineering students. Through the competition we simulate real-world engineering challenges. Each team is competing to have its design accepted for manufacture by a fictitious firm. As a team we design, build, test, promote, and compete with a vehicle within the limits of the rules. Through the competition we lean to balance our schedule and set our educational priorities to improve our overall engineering experience.

Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers SHPE is a national non- profit organization that was founded in 1974 in Los Angeles, California by a group of engineers employed by the city. Their objective was to form a national organization of professional engineers to serve as role models for the Hispanic community. The SHPE network would quickly grow to encompass the Hispanic community on both a national level and international level. The mission of SHPE is to be the source for quality Hispanic engineers and technical talent.
