Materials needed Client Paper Pen/pencil/colored pencils- optional
Copy of appropriate symbols Narrator: “To complete an ecomap you will need the client, paper, writing instrument(s)- may want different colors and a copy of appropriate symbols. It would be helpful if you discuss this project prior to the day you attempt to draw it so that the family can be thinking about the information ahead of time.”

Ecomap Key Narrator- “Every ecomap needs a key depicting the symbols and their meaning so an observer can determine what is being communicated Expect to have to draw at least one draft. Most families like to keep this assignment when you have it completed, so producing a readable copy would be appropriate. Completing one for your own family may be advantageous as well.”
