2 Musical Form Form: The organizing structure of a piece of music.

3 Types of Form Ternary – ABA Binary – A(A)B(B) Sonata Form – Exposition – Development – Recapitulation Theme and Variations – A theme is presented and subsequently stated several more times, with each time being a variation on the originally stated theme.

4 Music Makers: Voice and Instruments Voice: Male – Tenor, Baritone and Bass, Female – Soprano, Mezzo-Soprano and Alto Instruments: Strings, Woodwinds, Brass, Percussion and Keyboard

5 Attending a Concert (Pointers) Dress respectfully Arrive early Turn off all electronic devices Try to avoid making noise or exiting the hall while the musicians are performing Clap when the concertmaster and conductor enter the stage Clapping is also used to applaud the performers. Be sure to clap only after the complete work has been heard (No clapping between movements)
