3. Status of the project Winding of AFC 1 and 2 are complete and look to be of very good quality – shown here with outer insulation prior to welding of bobbin outer (right) 3 Most components are in hand and assembly is proceeding Welding of covers on bobbin nearly complete

Critical areas 5  Schedule analysed at meetings to highlight critical path items – this has worked well – used this to get engineering support in the right areas  Critical path at the moment is the Outer Vacuum Can assembly which is proving complex and time consuming. WL spending some time with them to understand this  Some risk mitigated by testing cryocoolers prior to installation – this has been very valuable  Control system needs to be ready – trying to keep on top of this issue  Power supply specifications have been difficult to interpret in the context of operation with the AFC – we are keeping on top of this
