1
Bridge and Rov Group 2 Mike, John, Savannah, Nick & V
2
Tooth picks & structure Our group began this project by creating a tooth pick model of a truss bridge The model was able to give us some back ground of how bridges are made as well as what can be created to support them.
3
Simulation, calculations & models After creating our tooth pic models we were able to create a simulation of the bridge on a program from the computer called west point bride design. From there we were then able to start our calculations from the deign that followed the specification and requirements.
4
Production activity We accidently made an error in our calculations therefore we were unable to work with the architecture kids because we had to recreate our bridge design. Once we recalculated we began construction on the bridge and began on the vex car
5
Fun with Robotics Our groups vex car did not follow ever detail with in the manual. We did not include gears with in the structure of the car and we used 4 motors to give the car more power
6
Project placement ( Roles ) Each member in the group was able to contribute in the production of the bridge. Savannah: Web page design/ Power point Mike & V : Bridge design consultants/ Constructors John & Nick: Vex car constructors
7
Challenges faced & successful rewards The use of glue sticks Making sure that our bridges structure is secure. Our bridge was able withstand the car and 3 bricks going across.
8
Improvements needed Make sure to recheck calculations. Glue management Be more mindful of your handle on the bridge.
9
Views for the future Knowing what we know now we would be more precise in the calculation, management and distribution of GLUE.
