7. The notebook is divided into TWO sections. The Left SIDE “LOVES” student work. This is the side that you can use to show me your creativity. This is the “output” or product side. Use COLOR it helps the brain learn, process, and remember! The Right side is “RESTRICTED” and contains only information given by Your teacher. Nothing else should be placed on the RIGHT SIDE!! This is the “input” side. Use C-notes it helps the brain learn, process, and remember!

Writing Summaries A notes summary is:  3-5 sentences long.  A concise statement using ORIGINAL words.  Written about the important concepts, not about “I learned that---.” Sample methods of writing summaries  Highlight/mark 5-10 key words in the notes and use these to write a summary.  Do Compare & Contrast statements.  Use a Venn Diagram

11. The Left Side Student output goes on the left even pages. Use multiple COLOR, it helps the brain learn, process, and remember! The left side incorporates and reflects how you learn in class as well as what you learn in class.
