4. Attached to the Feelings  Spiritual greed  No substance  The soul must be purged of emotional affections and replaced with substance so the soul may grasp God

5. Spiritual Luxury  The most important and has three causes  First Cause: Physical pleasure  Second Cause: Satan & demons  Third Cause: Fear of impure thoughts  The flesh must be quieted

6. Saints in a Day  Spiritual wrath  Self-inflicted  You need patience

7. Beyond Limits of Moderation  Spiritual gluttony  Growing weary  Efforts to obtain consolation actually lose spirituality

8. Weary with Spiritual Exercises  Spiritual envy  Spiritual sloth

9. God Works Passively  God sees our imperfections and urges us to grow up  Pride  humility, greed  simplicity, wrath  contentment, luxury  peace, gluttony  moderation, envy  joy, sloth  strength
