3 Pearl River, NY! Located in Southern NY About 20 minutes from NYC and about a mile from NJ 15,000 citizens Hamlet of Rockland County Originally called Muddy River and later named Pearl River because a doctor found pearls inside of mussels in Muddy Brooke.

4 Pearl River High School received the Malcolm Baldridge Award of Excellence.

5 Pearl River High School’s Mascot is the Pirate, and their biggest rivals are the Nanuet Knights and the Tappan Zee Dutchmen.

6 Pearl River has the largest youth Gaelic Athletic Football team in the United States. Probably due in some part to the excessively large Irish population.

7 Pearl River has the second largest St. Patrick’s Day Parade in New York State.

8 The Pearl River train station was founded in 1910. And is now used to get into Manhattan as the majority of people from Pearl River work in the city.
