Strategy 2011/2013 To promote sustainability management in Abu Dhabi by providing learning and knowledge sharing opportunities for government, private companies and not for profit organizations, in a spirit of cooperation and open dialogue. Our mission Our vision Sustainability management become a competitive advantage for organizational success in Abu Dhabi. Our goals 1.Raise awareness and understanding of sustainability principles and practices 2.Encourage the adoption of sustainability management and reporting practices 3.Provide a forum for experience sharing and learning about sustainability management and reporting practices. 4.Support sustainability initiatives within the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. 5.Enhance opportunities for international cooperation and recognition. 6.Promote the benefits of ADSG membership. 7.Build and excellent, sustainable and autonomous organization.

Strategy 2011/2013 Goal Stakeholder expectations: CEO/MD’s Recommendations ADSG response: Strategy 2011-2013 InitiativesProducts and services Projects G4-Support sustainability initiatives within the Emirates of Abu Dhabi – Influence others and have a voice in publicly sponsored initiatives (Emirates Foundation) – Encourage cooperation between the public and the private sector (EAD). – Prioritize and focus on three material issues (ADNOC, Aldar). – Involve the champions who have knowledge and experience on the key issues to lead initiatives (EAD). Advocacy Flagship programs All flagship programs respond to these expectations: Sustainable Procurement, Sustainable ICT, Labour Practices and Decent Work and Waste Management. – Set targets and actions focused on material issues for AD, i.e. reducing the ecological footprint (Aramex). – Identify and focus on low hanging fruits, quick wins consistent with AD maturity level, i.e. waste management (Masdar). – Propose common targets in collaboration with champions i.e. Center for Waste Management and measure and communicate achievements through sustainability reports (EAD). Advocacy Flagship programs Waste management (this program may be transformed into an “Eco- efficiency program” that would also include energy and water issues to respond better to expectations regarding reducing AD ecological footprint) – Engage students by linking ADSG strategy to AD Education strategy (DED, KF).
