6
Challenges of Cost Recovery May limit ability to fully meet mandate (e.g., history of CE/adult ed: social change, responsiveness, providing access, supporting student success, maintaining quality, and engaging with community May result in decisions driven solely by $ Organizational culture should be of collaboration; resource shortages may pit units against one another Opportunities Provided certain conditions (e.g., control of resources) are in place, may foster innovation, flexibility, entrepreneurship and partnership
7
Participants, please break into small groups to: 1. Discuss where your unit is placed on the funding continuum: baseline funded → full-cost recovery → profit 2. What challenges have you experienced or might you predict with the push to cost recovery? 3. Have you experienced or would you predict any benefits from a move to cost recovery? Groups will then report back for a full group discussion.
