City Relatively large and permanent settlement, particularly large urban settlement (Goodall, 1987). Relatively permanent and highly organized centre of population, of greater size or importance than town or village (British Encyclopedia). Urban area with high population density which is dominated mainly industrial and service activities (Wikipedia.org). 3

Town and village A town is a settlement ranging from a few hundred to several thousand (occasionally hundreds of thousands) inhabitants. A village is a clustered human settlement with the population ranging from a few hundred to a few thousands. 4
