2 Mission Overview BalloonSat Helios measures the efficiency of wireless energy transmission using a laser and solar panels.

3 Design Overview Two Foam Core Structures Top Circuit: Nine solar panels 3.3 volt Li-ion 50 mW red laser Bottom Circuit: One solar panel Attopilot current and voltage sensor Arduino Uno and SD shield.

7 Camera Test Camera worked, took over 600 pictures in two hours.

8 Whip and Drag Tests Whipped at about a two foot length to simulate flight string motion. Satellite dragged as a more accurate test of the satellite’s predicted landing behavior.

9 Drop Test Satellite dropped from second story to attain a speed of about 20 m/s.

10 Expected Results Cold test: More voltage as fog cleared –More laser light hitting panel Expect similar results on flight –Less atmosphere means better transmission.
