2. P ETROLEUM : W HAT IS IT USED FOR ? Petroleum is used for Fuels like Liquefied Petroleum Gas, Ethane, Gasoline, Diesel Fuel, Kerosene, Jet Fuels, and Fuel Oils. Also some uses are Alkenes(manufactured into plastic), Lubricants( such as machine oil, motor oil, greases, and viscosity. Wax used in frozen foods packaging, Asphalt used in paving roads, highways, freeways. It is also used in agriculture, the pesticides and fertilizers are made from the oils of petroleum.

3. E FFECT USE OF PETROLEUM ON EARTH When petroleum is used in motor vehicles it releases CO2 in the Earth’s atmosphere, resulting to cause pollution and green house gasses. Companies that get petroleum from pipes underground, those pipes can break which causes an oil spill. An oil spill can harm many ecosystems or even destroy them. Petroleum is very harmful for the environment. The cause of Global Warming is because of the CO2 in petroleum released form motor vehicles, that’s why there is an ozone hole and smog in the atmosphere.

4. E FFECT USE OF PETROLEUM ON ORGANISMS Many of the substances in petroleum effect many organisms in Earth per day. The release of CO2 and other harmful chemicals destroy the organisms habitats, and they can be injured by the chemicals. It is very harmful and deadly if you consume petroleum or gas, it damages your lungs and organs, which results in death. Some diseases that occur on the effects on petroleum items are: Auto Immune disorders, asthma, neurological disorders, certain cancers, mental retardation, hyperactivity, and A.D.D.

5. H OW IS IT USED AS ENERGY Petroleum is a fossil fuel that is used for a lot of things as energy. The energy in petroleum came from the energy in plants and animals. Most of our cars, trucks, SUVs, vans, and etc use petroleum to power their cars. Petroleum pollutes the Earth’s environment.

6. N ATURAL G AS : W HAT IS IT USED FOR ? Natural Gas can be used for many things. It can generate power, use of gas turbines, and steam turbines. It can also be used as domestic use, such as cooking in gas- powered ranges and ovens. Used in boilers, grills, and water heaters. Natural gas is also used as a fuel, it’s a cleaner alternative to other automobiles. As of 2008 there were 9.6 million natural gas vehicles worldwide. Also used in aviation as well. Natural Gas can also be used to generate fabrics, glass, steel, plastics, and paint.

7. E FFECT USE OF NATURAL GAS ON E ARTH It’s a much cleaner fossil fuel. Natural Gas is in underline pipes and it can destroy the vegetation, natural gas can leak in the soil of the plants. Causing them to be damaged or they can die. It also contaminates water, they search for natural gas by drilling and people who use water wells the natural gas contaminates the water. As natural gas production increases its effect on climate change is worsen in the past years. Natural Gases releases greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.

8. E FFECT USE OF NATURAL GASES ON ORGANISMS Natural Gases increases the risk of allergic reactions and other respiratory effects. Asthma development is very dangerous for children that get it. If organisms consume natural gas, it can lead to permanent injury or death. Animals have died from natural gases being exposed to them in their own ecosystem.
