Admission Selection Process Majors with the Basic Application Requirements: ▫ Business Administration - International Business & Logistics ▫ Global Studies & Maritime Affairs ▫ Facilities Engineering Technology ▫ Marine Engineering Technology Additional Requirements for Mechanical Engineering: ▫ Requires pre-calculus ▫ Requires 550 math SAT or 23 math ACT

Impacted Program: Marine Transportation Additional Requirements for Marine Transportation: ▫ SAT or ACT required for all FTF & LDT applicants ▫ Pre-calculus and physics recommended ▫ Resume may be submitted ▫ In the first year 255 applied 168 admitted 79% of CSU eligible FTF admitted & 100% of CSU eligible transfers admitted. 20 FTF placed on waitlist. No one was removed from it. FTF Eligibility Index cut point for this major became 3,240

Transfer Admission Process Transfers were 44% of 2011 entering class We admit LDT, UDT, and Post-Bac Summer work (just prior) is not used to qualify for admission LDT – Must complete English comp. & college math (B4) by end of Spring semester prior to enrollment UDT – Golden 4 / 60 Units by end of Spring semester prior to enrollment

Fall Admission Timeline Beyond Nov. 30 December : Last SAT/ACT Tests can be taken for FTF or LDT admission January 9: Last day to receive SAT/ACT test scores February 1: Decisions are mailed/e-mailed out March 2: FAFSA due in order to meet Cal Grant deadline April 1: Financial Aid packages begin to be e-mailed May 1: Intent to Enroll Form, Medical Forms and $500 non-refundable deposit are due in order to guarantee spot. Final Transcripts due July 15

Early Start & Orientation ELM/EPT required for those without other qualifying scores Take ELM/EPT ASAP and no later than April 20, 2012 Students must begin their remediation the summer before their Fall enrollment Early Start may be completed at any CSU, CCC, or approved online course Orientation is mandatory and takes place the week before classes begin

What Counselors Should Know About CMA Yes, uniforms are worn No, we are not a military school Students must declare a major (no undeclared) All communication is by e-mail. We recommend ALL students take SAT or ACT Passing medical review is required to enroll 100% of Final Transcripts are checked Early Start: We will enforce it…..flexibly!

Decision Appeal Process Appeal must arrive within two weeks of decision by e-mail or regular mail Must include “new” information A committee will review and notify within 10 working days of receiving the appeal Appeal process will be posted online and in denial or waitlist letter
