As children we are compelled to draw. Society has always been compelled to create images. The Lascaux cave images are 15,000 years old.

What is design? We are verbally literate, but not visually literate.

What is design? Design: response to editorial objectives. Fine art: communicates an artist’s intentions.

What is design? Graphic artists, unlike fine artists, are responsible for clear communication an audience can understand.
