Early Out/Late Start Schedule Subject Matter Teacher – PE w/a Common Core emphasis

o This is an adjusted bell schedule, one day per week o On that day, the school day is shortened by 50 minutes o Early Out = students are dismissed 50 minutes early o Late Start = students start 50 minutes later

A district-wide movement to support teaching and learning Ultimately, this is a dedicated time built into the teacher work day to allow for grade-level collaboration Ongoing, recurring opportunities for data analysis and collective development through shared instructional practices with a common vision of increased student performance.

Pros o Students are at their best in the morning o Less disruptive to core content instruction o Teachers aren’t getting ready to start their school day Cons Does not align to KAMS and PGHS

Pros o Aligns to KAMS and PGHS schedule o Kids sleep in one day Cons o Impacts key morning instructional minutes o Teachers are prepping for their day

Mondays and Fridays would have too great of an impact on school-wide systems. (ie Monday Morning Assemblies, Staff Mtgs, Assessments etc.) Consider what day of the week would best serve our site – Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday

To ensure the number of state-mandated instructional minutes, each school day will be extended by 10 minutes Bell Schedule (SAMPLE) Regular Day – 8:10 to 2:30 Early Out - 8:10 to 1:40 or Late Start 9:00 to 2:30
