2 Why mainstreaming DRR into Development Plans?
All sectors (Health, WASH, education, infrastructures, agriculture, education, transport, social development, forest, etc) are affected by the disasters Risk Informed Planning is the best strategy to decide how to allocate the National Budget to integrate Disaster Risk Reduction into Annual Development Plans and periodic plan to minimize the adverse impacts of disasters in development

3 Outcomes from DRR mainstreaming
Comprehensive plan 7 districts 51 VDCs and 1 Municipality 2,546,662 USD allocated

5 Process – Building Awareness
Central Government Ministry of Home Affairs National Planning Commission Line Ministries Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development Multi-Stakeholders responsibility requires joint action plan Disaster Management is a joint responsibility of Government at all levels as concurrent list and shared responsibilities including private sector Multi level responsibility requires Top Down Encouragement, bottom up planning and awareness building at all levels. The Planning process is a joint responsibility of government stakeholders from Central Government to Ward level District Government District Administration Office District Development Committee Line Agencies Local Government Ward Citizen Forums Mucipalities/ VDCs
